Captain for an IJN BB that is spec'ed for Secondaries you can do interesting things in and around islands while hunting DDs or other cruisers hunting yours. It's got a 5.5km range Secondaries longest reach of IJN CA's if you happen to have a high Lv.
It certainly feels incredibly fragile and with little to no special advantages but I'm very likely way too nooby to give her a proper reevaluation (and still missing a 15 point captain either). I bought the Atago because of this review as I needed a capable premium Tier VIII ship for ranked battles but I'm not sure if due to the decrease of concealment expert boni stealth firing is still an option that this ship can be accounted for or if the review might need another update and reevaluation. I dunno when they changed it but the stealth firing thing has changed, im running the Concealment System, and Concealment Expert, with the perma camo and the base detection is at 9.1, but detection when firing main battery is up at like 15.2, Ive had her for a while and was excited at the prospect of stealth firing in a CA when my captain finally got 15 points, but alas, that 600m window is just too small, but the ability to stealth drop torps, even with only a 900m window is pretty nice
